10 YEARS Performs Acoustically On Santa Rosa's 101.7 THE FOX; Video Available
November 20, 2008On Friday, November 14, Knoxville, Tennessee's 10 YEARS performed acoustically inside the "Less Is More" lounge live from the Grand Ballroom in San Francisco on the Santa Rosa, California radio station 101.7 The Fox. Watch the performance in two parts below.
10 YEARS's sophomore effort, "Division", was released on May 13. The group spent over a year writing and recording the follow-up to its 2005 debut, "The Autumn Effect", scrapping some initial work with one producer and starting over with another. Bassist Lewis Cosby told The Pulse of Radio he thinks the new CD reflects a period of intense growth for the group. "I honestly think that we've matured a lot, you know," he said. "This is, like, not our first rodeo anymore now. I think when we first came out and started touring, you know, we were naive and, you know, when we first started doing interviews and stuff we kind of held back, and now we're just kind of being ourselves. And I just feel a lot more comfortable in this skin now as a professional musician, if you want to call it."
10 YEARS ultimately recorded the album with producer Rick Parashar, who worked on PEARL JAM's classic 1991 debut, "Ten".
One tune on "Division", titled "Focus", was co-written with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and ARMY OF ANYONE guitarist Dean DeLeo.
The video for the album's first single, "Beautiful", takes a satirical look at what a press release called "the lengths the paparazzi and celebrities go through to notice each other in the current 'Gotcha!' game of celebrity journalism."
